dedicated to all trios, and my special trio :)

will you remember me?

once we're out of these four walls and empty halls?

will you remember how we laughed till the point where we'd start crying, or when we'd try to cheer each other up when we were really crying?

will you remember our promises?

all those texts and voice messages filled with stories and plans?

will you remember, ten years down the line, all the vacations planned in corners of the world we can only dream of going to?

will you remember our secrets?

words spoken in soft whispers, and pinky fingers intertwined to seal the promise.

"you're the only one i'm telling this to. don't tell anyone else, okay?"

okay.

will you also remember the pain?

the fights, the time we spent not talking to each other.

the days we spent without apologizing because we were too immature to admit our own mistakes.

will you remember the youth we shared?

dancing amidst a crowd of strangers, laughing at professors at the back of the hall, sharing makeup and matching clothes, parading around with bright smiles plastered on our faces. 

nothing else would matter. nobody else would matter. it was just us.

will it always be us? will we always be together?

i may not have known you for long, but my heart tells me you're familiar. maybe you were the sunlight and the breeze that accompanied me when i was a lone leaf. maybe you were the water and the sand meeting me when i was a mere rock on the beach. maybe you were the peanut butter and jelly to my plain old sandwich bread.

will you remember our friendship?

will we always be texting each other the second something shocking happens? or would it be a happy birthday message once a year, and the annual "i miss that day" we would bring up on the group chat?

will i be someone you look for in the crowd? will you be there for me to search?

will we always be together?

even if it's a lie, even if we can't possibly predict it, tell me we will. tell me that our friendship is truly eternal. and i'll do it for you too.

i want to remember everything. every small detail, as much as my mortal soul will allow me. i want to spend every minute of every day with you, as long as you'll have me.

i want to be your friend forever, and i hope that you'd want to be mine too.

so, will you remember?
